Carmel and Big Sur

We spent 3 days in Carmel and Big Sur driving up and down the recently reopened Pacific Coast Highway. We stayed at Carmel Valley Ranch where we enjoyed activities such as Beekeeping, Golf, Tennis, and lounging by the pool. Driving down to Ventana and spending the day at the resort, where we got to experience the Glamping and nature surrounding the property was well worth the drive.

In a nutshell...

Ventana Big Sur and Carmel Valley are a great combination when driving down PCH.

Good grub?

We only ate at the properties, which have amazing restaurants. The honey at Carmel Valley is homemade. I had a simple greek yogurt with fruit and honey and it was arguably the best I’ve ever had.

What struck me most was…

How beautiful the two properties are. Carmel Valley has stunning scenery throughout the property, but specially on the golf course. The views of the mountains in the background as you’re teeing off is something I won’t be forgetting any time soon.

If you do one thing...

Drive down to Big Sur for the day. There are tons of great hikes and stops along the way where you can take stunning photos of the coast.

Local gem?

Bixby Bridge. Definitely make time to stop and take photos here.

Favorite activity?

Beekeeping in Carmel Valley Ranch. It was such a unique experience to be able to pick up a honeycomb filled with hundreds of bees.

Favorite experience?

Driving down PCH at sunset. You really get to see California’s natural beauty as you drive up and down the coast.
